Dear Everyone,
So transfers were last night. Nothing happened with us. We are staying here on the north side of the
island. Elder Drawe and Elder White who were on the south side with two sisters left, and they are
being replaced by two more sisters, and so we are the only Elders on this island. That makes baptismal
interviews very much hard. This week Sandino wasn´t baptized because he still needs to finish repenting
of something, and so he needs to be re-interviewed, but the problem is that there are no more elders here,
and he lives an hour way up in the mountains. Normally we just go to peoples houses to do the interview,
but I guess now we will have to bring people down to use skype. Skype Interviews are not that great.
I did another interview this week on skype, and half way though the internet went out for like 2 mins,
and then we finished. It was hard. Also, I asked him to open the book of mormon to a page, and he
wasn´t finding it, then the Lord blessed me because I held the book up the the camera to show how
many pages it looked like, and so he copied it, and the Lord helped him to open to the right page just
based off what the book looked like. Miracles.
So this week was pretty crazy. We spent 2 full days outside our area because of zone conference,
and so we have just been playing catch up for the missed days. It makes things a bit harder, but we
just are pretty much used to it.
We had our first normal 3 hour church in our new building. The normal primary teacher wasn´t there,
and someone else who says she can´t teach primary because she can´t read but has a calling was
there too, and so we told her to come with us and we spent 2 hours improving primary trying to help
her, and then in sacrament meeting people were being very irreverent and so the Branch President
stood up and reproved them with the Power of God. Then Elder Sanchez gave a great talk on
Eternal families.
So the though tis week is about the Sacrament. I think I said something about that a while ago,
but it is very important. We need to take time at the end of the week before taking the sacrament
to reflect on our week and to see what we have need to repent of. The sacrament is part of our
covenants we made with God. Very important.
Love,
Elder Sampson
